I visited the BROC Community Action food shelf in Rutland today to learn about how people in our community can get fed. One great program is called Vermonters feeding Vermonters. It pays local farmers to make regular deliveries to the Vermont Food Bank, providing steady income for farms and fresh local produce for people who rely on food banks. Carrie and Amy told me about a farm that was able to stay afloat during a rough season because of this program. The legislature should make sure Vermonters feeding Vermonters gets enough funding to keep doing this excellent work!
